Following a year of active fundraising challenges which have ranged from bake sales to marathons, we’re delighted to announce that we have successfully raised a total of £10,854.26 to contribute towards the invaluable work carried out seven days a week, 365 days a year by Martin House Hospice, our chosen charity for 2019.
Our brilliant colleagues have run, walked, raffled, dabbled in football cards and even dressed down to help Martin House Hospice provide the best possible care and support for children, young people and their families living with a life-limiting condition.
Martin House currently looks after 428 families and 155 bereaved families. It costs over £8 million a year to provide this vital service to families in the region, or £22,000 each and every day, and just 11% of that comes from government sources, so our efforts have yielded funding for half a day.
Becky Beevers, Partnerships Manager at Martin House says, “It’s been excellent working with Mitton Group throughout 2019, their staff have really embraced the partnership, taking part in a variety of challenges including the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and the Yorkshire Marathon. The majority of the families we support come from the Bradford area, so it’s been lovely working with such a prominent Bradford-based business. With the support of businesses like Mitton Group, we are able to continue supporting babies, children and young people in Bradford, and across North, West and East Yorkshire.”
