M&E specialists Mitton Group have won a competitive tender to carry out electrical works for the Co-op Group working across the UK. Additional feature lighting will be installed in 863 Co-op stores from Lands End to the remote Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
The phased roll out is expected to see Mitton Group teams completing work in 50 – 55 stores a week. Providing enhanced bakery lighting designed to improve the customer experience.
Mitton Group was appointed in January 2020 to provide Britain’s leading consumer co-operative with mechanical, electrical and building fabric support services across the Co-op estate.
“This is a significant logistical challenge because of the geographical spread of the stores in question coupled with the required rate of installations,” stated Gavin Lewis for Mitton Group. “We will be deploying teams of qualified electrical engineers from our nationwide network of service centres, carefully monitored to ensure we maintain optimum adherence to health and safety requirements alongside pace and quality for project delivery.’’
